Is there a web page that has some sort of audio comparison between the different dialects? Like perhaps readings of various sentences or something? Can anyone help? Coimhéad fearg fhear na foighde.

http://www.irishshop.com/drochlrruaird.html http://www.fiosfeasa.com/script/bearla/products/drochla.asp As the publisher notes, the text on the CD is provided in each of the three major dialects and read by native speakers, including the three boys who take the part of Ruairí: Tá an téacs cóirithe as na trí príomhchanúintí, agus é á léamh ag cainteoirí dúchais, triúr leaid óg mar "Ruairí" ina measc: Rónán Ó Súilleabháin, Baile Breac, Co. While not a webpage, I'd be remiss not to mention Gaschaint, which is a set of CDs & book. We discussed it a while ago, but just to recap, this set features countless handy phrases with equivalents shown in each dialect, with two CDs included for each dialect. The phrases are colour-coded per dialect, and the CDs for each dialect are in a matching colour, making it easy to keep things straight. http://www.gaeilge.org FRC - Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin

Dennis and Cionaodh, thanks for your the links and informations. If anyone yet knows of something that I don't have to buy, but just view online, I'd be much oblidged to know it. :-) Thanks! Coimhéad fearg fhear na foighde.

I remember about a year and a half ago corresponding with Lúcas about a power point presentation he was working on about dialectical variations. I still have it here somewhere if you'd like me to email it to you, or you could talk to Lúcas. It was very interesting and well done. |
