Just to let you know that a "Tionól Amhrán" will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A., on the 1st and 2nd of October 2004 at the Hefter Center on N. Lake Drive. It is being co-hosted by Conradh na Gaeilge, Milwaukee and the Center for Celtic Studies at U.W.M. (University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee)
The focus of the "Tionól" is to highlight the variety of types of song currently being sung in the Irish language. New compositions for both adults and children, mellow new age type compositions, traditional drinking songs and of course seán nós styles will all be represented.
The performers and workshop leaders will include
Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin, Aine Meenaghan, Jim Flanagan and Mary Mc Loughlin.
