Tyler- 'Mo Cridhe'- I guess is Heart(now Croí) Anam is soul. So it is this 'I hold/give my heart and my soul.... 'mi baith' has me stumped!! Maybe someone else can help? If I had to guess I would say 'I Give(surrender??) my heart and soul without fear.' Does that fit the context? |

Maybe it is possible that Bhaith might be an old spelling of Maith? Mí-Bhaith could mean no good or worthless? As in Ceart and Mí-cheart? right and wrong? I surrender my heart and worthless soul? |

I found this on Google in Scottish Gaelic Air sgath na chunna mi, Do shith is d'a bhaigh, Tog m' anam riut, a Mhic De, Na treig mi gu brath. The tranlation is Because of all that I have seen, Of His peace and of His mercy, Lift Thou my soul to Thee, O Son of God, Nor leave me ever. Baith here seems to mean mercy. I think your words might be scottish Gaelic-not Irish Gaelic |
