Anois, cuirim an cheist orm cad faoin amhrán shean-nós as ceantair lasmuigh den Ghaeltacht atá inniu ann. An bhfuil na hamhráin shean-nós uilig a chantar inniu as ceantair na Gaeltachta nó an bhfuil fós cuimhin ar amhráin shean-nós agus amhráin eile as Gaeilge i gceantair ar fud na tíre? An bhfuil bannaí Irish folk ann a chanann as Gaeilge? Ach sílim gur as Béarla atá Irish folk den chuid is mó.
Cásca sona daoibh, Alex

Is stíl faoi leith é "Sean-Nós" (Conamara). Is minic gur bailéadaí iad, ach is féidir leo a bheith scuipí freisin. Ní bhíonn aon tionlacan leo.

Stíl nua is ea Ceol Tíre Chonamara.
Cosúil le "Country Music" ach go bhfuil na hamhráin i nGaeilge, agus cumtha faoi eachtraí nó daoine as Conamara.

Maith thú a Bhríd ,iontach ar fad , Being from the North , Sean nós is not something i am used to till i started on the Irish Learning Road , where i got my ears and eyes opn to it , and GAA and Traditional music. But when i was at my first Oireachtas in Letterkenny a few years ago , and i saw the kids doing , it was amazing , to see how much they Loved and were Proud of their Culture , Ceol Spórt srl.

Something sadly missing in this Part of the Country.

Teifeach

Ní thuig sibh mo cheist. An bhfuil fós amhráin sean-nóis as ceantair lasmuigh den Ghaeltacht ar fáil? An bhfuil cuid acu bailithe agus sábháilte ag duine éigin nuair a bhí an Ghaeilge ag dul as úsáid mar ghnáth-theanga i gceantair éagsúla sa Ghalltacht, mar shampla Contae an Chláir?

Tá lear mór béaloideas bailithe, agus taifid ina measc. Ach níl mórán de ar fáil, fós.

D'fheadfá an cheist a fhiosrú le Rannóg an Bhéaloidis i gColáiste na hOllscoile, BhÁC

http://www.ucd.ie/icsifl/

Is ann atá cuid mhór den ábhar.
