my guess is mura ngáirfidh mé, caoinfidh mé or mura ndéanfidh mé gáire, déanfidh mé caoineadh but i am not a native speaker, so that could be way wrong. wait for any confirmation of this before you go tattooing it on yourself ;) that is also a literal translation. there may be an existing saying that more approximates the spirit of what you want to express. something succinct and more irish sound like gáire roimh chaoineadh |

That seems to me to mean 'if i laugh, i'll cry' wheres the negative? Its just a little phrase i'm well known for saying. :) |
