Dia daoibh! I'm a beginner and was wondering if anyone here has used the Irish People's lessons? If so, would you please let me know if they were helpful to you?
So far I been using: Giota Beag / Giota Beag Eile, Colin and Cumberland and the Irish People's lessons.
Grma,
Deb

Dia duit a Deb!

Tá failte roimh go (welcome to) "the daltaí discussion" forum. I have used the Tús Maith CD course and it was nice if you don't mind a northern "blás"(flavor/accent). I suggest you buy the Book one and just work a bit through it. It will all be familiar as it's like the Giota beag eile.

Good luck,
Faber

Giota Beag was my first Irish course I loved it, bitesized but you come away being able to speak enough. I'd say I learnt more with Giota Beag than I did with other internet courses for 2 years, until I bought a proper course: Learning Irish by Mícheál Ó Siadhail. And still, definately do something like Giota Beag to get you very basic conversation irish, its a great platform to a larger course later I'd certainly recommended doing that first.

To this day I still say "cad é mar atá tú?" despite all my subsequent courses being based around Conamara Irish

Also try EasyIrish at www.rte.ie/easyirish first.

I cant stress enough how much a shortish ish speaking focused course is essential (it was to me anyway) to enjoying it and getting speaking - if id of gone into a big course learning grammar etc straight away id ive probably quit!
