we discussed the pl. bronntanaisí But in PUL's Notes on Irish Words and Usages we read: Bronntanas (bronntas), a free gift, an offering. Pl. bronntaisí. I am thinking that in WM Irish, it is possible that bronntanas is shortened in pronunciation to bronntas, and that is where the pl. bronntaisí comes from. |
