D'fhios confused me, as Ó Dónaill's dictionary lists "d'fhios" as meaning "to seek out" [do+fios as a verbal noun]. I tried every possible way of reading that into the sentence, but I think this is de+fhios "more in the way of knowledge". An bhfuil an ceart agam air seo?

2. Is dóigh léi ná fuil a fhios agamsa é.

I was confused by the "a fhios" and the "é" both occurring. Wouuld it be wrong without é? And is there any good explanation of what the é is doing there?

1. I'm pretty sure it means 'tá tuilleadh eolais ar a gnóthaí agamsa ná mar is dóigh léi'.

2. It is quite common in Connemara Irish. Since 'a fhios' embeds a clause it makes a lot sense why it can also permit a noun phrase argument. If you take any English sentence-embedding verb, you'll notice the same pattern: cf I know [that he speaks Irish] and I know [that], etc.

Literally "I have much more knowledge of her business/affairs than she thinks". d'fhios is simply de + fhios.

Yes, you would assume logically that it should be "tá a fhios agamsa", literally "I have its knowledge" but I've never heard or seen that from any native speakers in the south, only "Tá's agamsa é".
