Dia dhaoibh! I'm on an Oideas Gael course this week, and one of the many things I've aimed to do this week is learn a new song as Gaeilge, and I love Darach Ó Catháin's 'Caoirigh na Japs'. Anyone have the words? I can't quite make out all of the words, and it's not available online as far as I can tell. Go raibh maith agaibh! |

Have the album at home best versions i've ever heard of Óró sé do bheatha bhaile and Tomás Bán MacAodagain. Unfortunately the words are not available on internet. I much prefer listening to Darach or Dara Bán MacDonncha than Seosamh Ó hEanaí |

I don't have them either but I know the song you mean. Unfortunately I'm dead busy at the moment... shouldn't even be showing my face on here! Mo mhála mór a unpackáil tar éis na Gréige, nótaí buíochais a chur chuig na daoine a thug dúinn bronntanais phósta... gan trácht ar chor ar bith ar mo worldly goods uilig a aistriú go dtí an t-árasán nua roimh dheireadh na míosa... If you'll still be interested in a fortnight's time, I can try and transcribe it for you then... or if there are other songs you're interested in, perhaps one of them I'd have the lyrics to hand already. Tá fáilte roimh chuile cheartú! |

Go raibh míle maith agaibh don freagraí. And I might take you up on that offer Abigail. I don't have an account here, but I check the forum often enough, so perhaps I'll raise the question again in a couple of weeks. :) It definitely is a great album - but since I can't get the lyrics this week I've decided to work on a song performed most recently by Liadán called 'Ocum an Phríosiún'. A very lively tune. :) |
