I am having trouble with pronouncing the past tense of the Munster dialect. The subject I have difficulty with the 'you' endings, mar shampla:
-ais, -is
-aís, -ís
an bhfuil einne in ann liom a chabhru?

'mar ná beidh ár leithidí arís ann'
-Tomás O'Croitháin (An t-Oiléanach)

-ais, -is > /əs'/, /is'/ (roughly -ish)

-aís, -ís > /i:s'/ (-eesh)

In your opinion do you think there might be a misunderstanding aurally between 'me' and 'tu' endings in the munster dialect?

No because the "mé" endings have a broad s (-as, -eas, -aíos, -íos) and the "tú" ones have a slender one. They don't sound alike at all.

Ceart go leor, mar sin.

No, as you wouldn't take marsh for Mars, would you? Sounds "s" and "sh" are totally different.
