Just thinking about this today.. I had seen 'taobh amuigh den Ghaeltacht' written a couple of times last couple of days and I remembered learning 'lasmuigh' at some point. But what's the exact difference between them? Or are they the same meaning and it's down then to dialect/preference which one you use? I'm thinking it's the same with 'taobh istigh de' and 'laisigh de. |

They are pretty much synonymous. lasmuigh [dobhriathar][réamhfhocal] taobh amuigh; amuigh faoin aer ACH: lasmuigh de (diomaite de, ach amháin, seachas). |

Níl a fhios agam baileach, ach is í an tuiscint atá agam nach mbíonn "laistigh/lasmuigh, 7rl." sa gcaint taobh istigh de Gaeltacht na Gaillimhe. Is cruthú diúltach é an crúthú atá agam air, mar a déarfá: níl siad seo liostáilte in áit ar bith a mba cheart dhóibh a bheith liostáilte ann dhá mbeidís fós ina bhfoirmeacha beo. Tháinig mé ar rud suimiúil aréir faoin teideal 'Leath' sa bhFGB agus tá an chosúlacht air go dtagann lasmuigh, laistigh, lastall srl ó 'don leath\leith --- ': (Don) leath/leith amuigh= lasmuigh " istigh= laistigh " thall= lastall " theas= laisteas |
