Please can anyone translate the following in to Irish;

beloved Mother, Walk with me into the night, And gently hold my hand

A mháithrín dhílis, siúil liom san oíche agus beir go mín ar láimh orm.

...wait for corrections or other suggestions.

Tá fáilte roimh chuile cheartú!

The only quibble I have with Abigail's translation is that the sense of into the night is not conveyed.

Is this a metaphor for death? In any case it would be easier to substitute darkness for night

Siúil liom isteach sa dorchadas, agus mé i ngreim láimhe chaoin agat

Walk with me into the darkness and me in gentle handclasp with you
