It means "appropriate references to the story itself". Pick out points in the story that support or illustrate what you have to say about the character or the plot and give a brief mention of them in your answer. They show that you have not just learnt a stock response but that you have also studied the story and know it well. In my schooldays we used use two pens for such answers: one in black for our own response to the question and the other in some other colour for the quotations from the text itself. We thought that made a good impact on the examiner! Hint: It is not forbidden to learn some sentences from the story off by heart! You can use them in the exam but also here on the Irish Only forum on this website. The beauty of learning short sentences or verses of poems or prayers or whatever by heart is that they provide templates and structures for you to base your own speech and writing on. An rud is tábhachtaí an Ghaeilge a úsáid. To get from "gabhchumas" to "ginchumas". Go n-éirí leat. [As usual I'll translate later if necessary.] |
