I have created a chat on Unilang (www.unilang.org), a site dedicated to language-learning, in hopes that it could be a central meeting place for people who would like to converse in Irish at a pace faster than normal forum posting.

Instructions:
You can reach this chat either through the web at http://home.unilang.org/main/chat.php?l=en or on an IRC client such as MIRC or XCHAT. You can either register on Unilang as a member or you can join the chat as a guest without having to register.

Once you are in the main channel (#unilang) type '/join #gaeilge' without the quotation marks and this will take you to the Irish language channel. My logon there is Sionnach in case you should have any questions.

That sounds like fun. Do you know of any other chat rooms as Gaeilge? I have often wondered about them, but honestly never looked.

As far as I know there isn't any Irish chat room, I've looked around the web and can't seem to find any but there is a Scottish Gaelic chat room called Seomra Gaidhlig or something like that.
