http://tinyurl.com/2bnsb8 The US Congress is being told that disrespect for the Irish Language is harming the Irish peace-process and that the US must not in anyway subsidize that disrespect. The Capitol Hill-based Irish National Caucus has written to key Members of Congress to take action to ensure that the United States does not in anyway “ subsidize anti-Irish language” policies.... |

Spéisiúil. I'd love to see someone to really make the DUP sweat.. Is there anyone that would actually do it though? Especially do it while under the eye of the media!? A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river

The US shouldn't feel threatened by Gaeilge. It's Spanish that most people feel an animosity for right now. Plus, all the Gaeilge speakers I know respect both languages and the country's wish to have English spoken while speaking their own language too. If I am understanding wrong please let me know. Oíche mhaith! |

Dar liomsa, in áit an Chodhála SAM (atá gan suim ar aon teanga ach Béarla), b’fhearr brú a chur ar an mBiúró Thuaisceart Éireann i Washington: http://www.nibureau.com/contact-us.htm . |

quote:If I am understanding wrong please let me know I think you are, Cáit. This is about using the US political muscle to influence Unionist politicians in Northern Ireland who are impeding progress for Irish speakers there. |

Pointe maith a Dhaithí faoin Bhiúró úd in Washington. Léirsiú taobh amuigh b'fhéidir? Sin bealach amháin do Ghaeil SAM tacaíocht a thabhairt dúinn anseo! |

"The US shouldn't feel threatened by Gaeilge. It's Spanish that most people feel an animosity for right now." I don't see anywhere a fear of Gaeilg by Americans. I'm confused by that statement le díol
