plus 12 Euros postage=34 Euros for a PAPERBACK copy!!
Oh well, it's money well spent! I hope Mairtin's family is gettig some income from it.

Look at it this way: You will amortise the cost of the book every time you read it, which will probably be 3400 times before you understand the Irish in it!!

Ciao,

Lads, if you must learn Irish, it's a language that you have to read in. 20 is only a drop in what I've spent and will spend; that's my attitude. You can learn English for nothing, but a minority language will cost you more

Ní dóigh liom go bhfuil €22 ró-dhaor ar chor ar bith. Mar adeir Aonghus, is seod ceart é, agus bhí an-tóir air fad is a bhí sé as cló. Thug mise an oiread sin ar fhógra nuachtáin á lorg, gan trácht ar an leabhar féin a cheannach nuair a d'aimsigh mé cóip faoi dheireadh.

Mura bhfuil tú cinnte an dtaitneoidh sé leat, mura bhfuil tú cinnte an mbeidh tú in ann dó, seo réiteach simplí: faigh cóip ón leabharlann agus bain blaiseadh as. Má tá nó má thaitníonn, tig leat é a cheannach duit féin ansin agus a fhios agat gur fiú a luach é.

(Maidir le bheith in ann dó, bíodh misneach agat! Tá an Ghaeilge deacair ann ach níl sí ró-dheacair ar fad. Coinnigh ort agus rachaidh tú i dtaithí air de réir a chéile - agus tá sé sách athrách freisin, rud a chuidigh go mór liomsa nuair a bhí mé á léamh i gcéaduair.)

A Aonghuis, an bhfuil sé feicthe agat fós? Cén chaoi 'bhfuil sé ó thaobh stíle/cló/soléiteachta de?

Tá fáilte roimh chuile cheartú!

Níl ach an chlúdach feicthe agam.
Níl sé ar bharr mo liosta, ó tharla gur léigh mé seanchóip den gcéad eagrán le linn an tsamhraidh.

Tá chuile rud coibhneasta mar a dúirt máthair einstein leis nuair a d'iarr sí uirthi an Iúdach a bhí ann, nó Gearmánach.

Muna bhfuil airgead agat, is buaic gan dreapadh €22+, más milliúnaí tú ní chronófá doirneog bhídeach mar seo ar dhuirling do mhaoine.

An móramh againn, táimid eadarthu, cuid againn ag claonadh i dtaobh ar leith.

Buíochas le dia go bhfuil leabharlainn ann.

That's too true. I think that this is because, when you find resources you really have to seize them. So the vendor can overprice it a lot if they feel like it.

PS Does this forum support the whole [b][i][u] thing? I can't think of the proper name...starts with a B I think.

I won't do anything to you know, but if I were you, I'd be happy that you're not an artichoke -Endorra
