Ní fhaca mé an scannán nua úd KINGS fós ach chuala mé go raibh daoine an-shásta leis agus an treo ina úsáidtear An Ghaeilge don chuid is mó ann (Gaeilge Chonnamara is dócha). Cad é bhur meas?

Bheadh sé maith dá mbeadh sé ar taispeáint ar fud na tíre ach níl. Níl sé ach i mBÁC is cosúil - cad tuige?

Chonaic mé féin é, thaitin sé go mór liom. Scéal trom atá ann a chuirfidh ag machnamh thú. Ná bí ag súil le happy end hollywoodach!

Ní scannán é a d'ardódh seasamh na Gaeilge i súile an phobail, áfach. Tá an teachtaireacht go láidir ann go mbaineann an Ghaeilge le saol truamhéalach na mbochtán, leis an ólachán, agus mar sin de.

De réir dealramh is scéal é mar gheall ar scaite buachaillí ó Chonnamara i London sna 1970s agus an saol a bhíodh acu ann. Tá an scannán bunaithe ar dráma a scríobhadh fiche blian ó shin 'Kings of Kilburn Road', nó tideal cosúil le sin. Tagann na buachaillí le chéile arís t'réis tamaill mhaith de blianta agus léirítear dúinn de réir a chéile cad a thit amach ina saoil.

Ar ndóigh ní píosa bolscaireachta i leith na Gaeilge atá ann in aon chor, ná 'documentary' ach an oiread. Is dráma é, a nósann dúinn an saol mar a bhí san am sin ag an gnáth-Éireannach, pé Gaeilgeoirí nó Béarlóirí iad. Cinnte, is 'art house film' é agus níl sé i gcomórtas leis na 'Hollywood blockbusters', ach tá an t-aisteoir Colm Meaney ann agus tá an scannán cuirthe go dtí Canne (i gcomórtas an 'Palm D'or' a deirtear liom).

Beidh mé ag faire amach chun an DVD a fháil.

Chonaic mé féin é i rith na seachtaine. Fíor-mhaith!

Gaeilge álainn tríd an scannán ar fad, agus is scannán mar is ceart atá ann.

Chonaic mé féin é i Screen Cinema, D'olier street trasna ó choláiste na trionóide.

Ah ha! Tá sé fós le feiceáil ansin Seán Maitiú,
http://www.omniplex.ie/cinema/screencinema/screendublin.htm Ach nach bhfuil tusa amach i nGaillimh!? B'fhéidir gur tusa Seán Maitiú ó paisean faisean!?!
