Fáilte a Brieuc! Check out this website that has some info on the perfect tense: http://www.nualeargais.ie/gnag/zeitform.htm#Perfekt (Message edited by mac_léinn on July 30, 2007) Ní hé lá na gaoithe lá na scoilbe.

Tá mé i ndiaidh dearmad a déanamh. Tá mé tar éis dearmad a déanamh. An seo é? |

Thanks! that was really helpful! but what about simple statements like 'i have worked' ? would they still be the same as the site explained? |

Yes, for that statement the preterite would be natural in Irish, "D'oibrigh mé." Alternatively, you might use this construction (using the verb Bí+verbal noun) if the activity has just ended: Tá mé taréis oibriú. 'Oibriú' is what we use for the verbal noun form, but some people may use other forms. |
