quote:

A spokesperson for Comhar told RTE Nuacht that the figures followed Irish-language census patterns in the Gaeltacht. She added that it was a testament to the work of the naionrai that most children had fluent Irish by the time they had left the naionra and had entered the primary education system.

Cad as a thaganns na páistí siúd gan Ghaeilge atá ina gcónaí sna Gaeltachtaí mar sin?... 'bhfuil líon na mBéarlóirí chomh mór sin sna Gaeltachtaí go léir anois?

Chonaic mé é seo ar Nuacht TG4 aréir is arú aréir agus caithfear a rá gur chuir sé díomá an domhain ormsa.

Ní théann gach páiste chuig naoínra.

Tá barúil agam gur mó seans go rachadh páiste thar bhaile iseatch chuig naoínra, toisc a thuistí a bheith ag obair lasmuigh den nGaeltacht.

Sa bharr ar sin, tá an gnáth deacracht le teorainn na gaeltachta.

Spéisiúil cinnte.

Bíonn na páistí "gaelacha" ag foghlaim botúin gaeilge na bpáistí eile... Mar sin, déanann sé sin dochar don teanga.

Ach, ar an taobh eile bíonn na páistí eile ag foghlaim na teanga ó pháistí gaelacha..

Leanúint an scéil sa phic mór - Gaeltachtaí ag éirí níos laige Galltachaí ag éirí níos láidire.

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river
