Considering a holiday renting a cottage in Letterfrack. Ideal situation would be a locale for immersion in Gaeilge agus Ceol Trad....Cén Sceal???

Is minic a bhris beál duine a shrón.
Fáilte roimh cheartú, go deo.

Níor chuala mé riamh focal Ghaeilge i Letterfrack. I m-eolas ní áirítear é sa Ghaeltacht. Ach tá an Pháirc Náisiúnta ann go hiontach agus is fiú cuairt a thabhairt uirthi.

Letterfrack is just outside of the area you'd want. You may want to look more at places like Spiddal, Carrowroe or Carna.

There is a great Teach Ceol in Tully, about 5 minutes away from Letterfrack. My mom is from the area, and we went to the TC every summer when I was young. I loved it.

I'm pretty sure it's every Tuesday night. If you're in the area, definitely check it out.

James, a chara,

Cén chaoi a bhfuil tú?

Tá "holiday cottages" suite ar an gCeathrú Rua.
An nasc: http://www.carraroeholidaycottages.ie/
Sílim go bhfuil siad suite in aice leis an Best Western (ach ní raibh mise ansiúd ar feadh cúig bhlian).
Is fíorGhaelacht é go deimhin...

Is breá liom An Cheathrú Rua agus chuir na daoine fáilte iontach romham.

Go n-éirí an t-ádh leat.

Paul

A James a chara,

Wouldn't your family just love to take along a foolish American woman who is desperate to get back to Ireland? :)

Beir bua agus beannacht

Bhíos ag éisteacht leis an raidió an tseachtain seo caite (Marian Finucane), agus bhí an fear grinn Des Bishop ag labhairt ar an gclár. D'aistrigh sé go dtí an Cheathrú Rua agus tá sé mar rún dhaingean aige an Ghaeilge a fhoghlaim. Ar feadh mo chuimhne fanfaidh sé ann ar feadh bliana. Beidh sé ag déanamh clár teilifíse faoin eachtra chomh maith. Míneoidh sé dúinn na cúiseanna gur shocraigh sé Gaeilge a fhoghlaim agus déanfaidh sé cur síos ar an dul chun chinn atá á déanamh aige. Dar ndóigh beidh an clár greannmhar.
James, b'fhéidir gurbh é seo do sheans a bheith ar an dteilifís má théann tú ann?

Go maith, déanfaidh sé sin go leor mhaitheas do deá-íomha na teanga agus na Gaeltachta..

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river

Cad a ceapadh don cead agallamh? an t-ollamh as UCC?

No messing he doesn't like the cupla focail mentality 'he says speaking pidgin Irish serves no purpose'
