In the northeastern United States, Daltaí na Gaeilge and Conradh na Gaeilge of New England exist to serve the interests of those interested in the Irish language. Daltaí na Gaeilge is a tax exempt, not for profit corporation dedicated to promoting and teaching the Irish language. Conradh na Gaeilge Shasana Nua is a branch of Conradh na Gaeilge, an Irish language organization founded in Ireland. Are there organizations similar to these two groups throughout North America?

Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

Le meas,

Maidhc

A Mhaidhc,

Tá trí cheann eile anseo a bhfuil aithne agam. (Here are three others that I know of.)

The Irish American Association of Northwest New Jersey: http://www.iaanj.com/

Gaelteacht Minnesota: http://www.gaelminn.org/ Gaelteacht Minnesota has some excellent study aids, including exercises for many of the chapters of Buntús Cainte.

Comhalta, the Canadian based organization responsible for the first modern-day, permanent Gaelteacht in North America:

Shares for the Gaeltacht are still available.

Canúint Nua Joisey Lárnach Abú!

Dia dhaoibh, a chairde. An mbeadh spéis agaibh uilig clárú le Conradh na Gaeilge i mBaile Átha Cliath. Ba bhreá linn dá mbeadh sibh sásta clárú linn. Déan teagmháil liom ag más ea.

I finally joined the yahoo group which is connected to a conversation group in my city, They meet monthly to visit and practice speaking but I won't be able to make it to the next meeting on account of a project with my Junior High kids that day. From what I've seen on the message board of the yahoo group, most of them seem nice enough though there is a woman who I'm feeling wary of.

Hopefully I can get up the guts to attend the March meeting.

Beir bua agus beannacht
