I've been looking for months for a good immersion program. But I can't seem to find one that fits the bill. I need a program that 1. Is total immersion 2. Is about a month long 3. Is overnight (I live in the US) 4. Is in the Summer

Does anyone know of a good summer program, like staying with a Gaelic family sort of thing?

Go raibh maith agat, Aonghus. :-)

Anyone know of a program involving staying with an Irish speaking family?

You have the option with Oideas Gael off staying with an Irish Speaking family if you book early.

Just my two cents on Oideas Gael:

I took a long weekend course there a couple years ago and had the time of my life. I stayed in a bed and breakfast with an Irish family (bean an tí agus a fear ceile). They were wonderful and the food was great! Probably the best thing was that there were other students at the bed and breakfast and one of student-guests, Roisín, became the informal leader of the gang. She was fluent in Irish and very helpful towards us beginners in helping with our Irish. She also kept us on track when we tried to veer off into English.

The folks at Oideas Gael are very professional and very kind and hospitable. Just tell them what your intentions are and I'm sure you'll be accomodated, as long as you register early enough.

P.S. If you like hill walking, you'll find the most breath-taking scenery in all of Ireland in the area.

Hats off to Liam O'Cuinneagáin (Cathaoirleach Udarás na Gaeltachta) for his work with Oideas Gael..
I was offered a job with them for my work experience but had already accepted something else.

The president and Gerry Adams go there agus feabhas a chur ar a gcuid gaeilge.. Does anyone else famous go there?
