I don't think so: Since trolls are particular to Scandanavian folklore, and the internet troll is a different beast - based on meaning (3) in the following as I understand it: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/troll Dictionary.com gives the etmyology of the Scandinavian troll as < ON troll demon That would be "Deamhan" in Irish. deamhan [ainmfhocal firinscneach den chéad díochlaonadh] diabhal. But let it not be said that I demonise unregistered guests... |

Dennis, that was me who posted the troll pic above. I simply saw "Seattle" and "troll" mentioned in the same thread, and I thought it would be entertaining to put up a picture of our resident troll here in Seattle. Surely you know the place. My Irish currently sits somewhere near the Complete Ignoramus level, so I hope you'll forgive me if I've done something unfortunate! I'm plainly in over my head here. |

é a fheiceáil Go raibh maith agat a Dennis. I should have know to put the "é" first, and I look forward to getting a better handle on constructing the verbal-noun sequence also. A Domhnall agus a Dennis - go riabh maith agaibh as pictiúir! You guys are lucky to have such a resident in Seattle. I not a big fan of having my picture taken with celebrities (Mickey, etc) but next time I'm in Seattle, I'm definitely making an exception! |

quote:Dennis, that was me who posted the troll pic above. And a very good one. We were just joking about having Mack, the master of noms de plume, give all the "Unregistered Guests" nicknames. Ach níl leasainm ná ainm cleite ag teastáil uait, a Dhomhnaill. An bhfuil tú i do chónaí in Seattle, nó i mBellevue? Caminante no hay camino, se hace camino al andar.
