Hello again! Is there anyone out there both able and willing to record him/herself saying the Irish phrase you all helped me with a a couple months ago? (that U2 phrase shirt) In any format. I just want to put it on my website so people know how to correctly pronounce it, and not butcher it as I fear I may be doing. It would just add an extra dimension to the whole thing. (and thanks again for the help! The shirt came out great and people think the Gaelic makes it all the more unique.) |

I'll have a stab at it. Where would you like it sent? |

"Is umhlaide mé do ghrá" "What I read from this line is both (a) that your example teaches me humility, and (b) that I am humbled by the generosity of your love" Lovely phrase, especially as the original U2 lyrics were rather nasty (dominion vs. anquiesence). This one has more balance, in a sense generosity inspiring a positive humility out of understanding of a good turn. Would one pronouce the 'mé' as /me:/ or /m´@/, in this context? Also, would it be OK to say 'do ghrása', or whas this level of emphatic not intended? |

Actually, maybe a safer bet would be The other one filters out TOO much, and I don't want to miss this. |
