Are you sure you spelled the first word right? I'm not sure, but if I'm correct, she'll reenact the "auto-pilot" scene from the movie 'Airplane' on you if you buy her a drink. |

In case you haven't seen the movie (I haven't)... Inseoidh mé dhuit é má cheannaíonn tú deoch dhom! I'll tell you if you buy me a drink! Spotted on a T-shirt somewhere, was it? Abigail Tá fáilte roimh chuile cheartú!

Thank you all for the translation. You are correct, was on a T-shirt from a popular Irish tavern in the Philadelphia area. The spelling is as printed. I don't know if it is spelled correctly. I'll assume by the successful translation that it was. This is as close as I got with my beginner status. Inseoidah mé dhuit é má cheannaíon tú deoch dhom! ???????? I/me ??? if me ????????? you drink Thanks again. PS. I enjoyed that movie also! |

I have a shirt that says: Ceannaigh beoir dom agus inseoidh mé duit...I was told that means "if you buy me a beer, I'll tell you". Assuming that someone will come up to you in a pub and ask what the saying means, you can get a drink out of the deal... |

Bethrua, Probably a minor point, but the message on your T-shirt is more direct than Mike87aoh's in that the phrase on your T-shirt uses the command form of buy (ceannaigh). I think the T-shirt says "Buy me a beer and I'll tell you" and also, there is no "if" contained within the phrase. |

Tá an cheart agat, a Chuach. It also leaves open what you will tell them. It makes sense only in answer to a question. e.g. Cad as duit? Ceannaigh beoir dom agus inseoidh mé duit! |
