By throw away I hope you mean give away or get rid of, it seems a waste to "throw away" a piece of furnature.

An tSír Tír "a" dhéanta

Nós a bhí ann ar feadh seal, ach is nath sách ciotach atá ann.

(Ní dóigh liom go bhfuil tír ar bith ina thír dhéanta - cé go "ndéanann" corr famaire tíortha laistigh de lá amháin.)

Is ar mhaithe le imeartas focal idir "tír" is an "tSír" a bhí mé.

Dar ndóigh is é: "(Is é)An tSír Tír (a)dhéanta" a bheadh ann. Scríobhadh é mar a labhradh é

Uaireanta is ionann "déanta" agus "cruthanta", nó "complete, fully qualified". Meas tú an féidir a rá nach "tír dhéanta" í an tSomáil (agus cúpla ceann eile amuigh ansin)?

Go raibh [do rogha meafar] leat!

Chuige sin go díreach a bhí mé. Tá sé follasach i gcás an tSomáil. Ach an ann don tír foirfe? Fiú tír na cróga agus saor?

Ceist mhaith do na staraithe agus do na fealsúna í sin! Ní bheadh a fhios againn ach ag breathnú siar, is dócha. An ann don duine foirfe? Is ann don fhear déanta, de réir Uí Dhónaill. Cloistear na focail "a mature democracy" ó am go ham. An mbeifeá sásta le "daonlathas déanta" mar aistriúchán air sin?

Go raibh [do rogha meafar] leat!

Bheadh. Agus níos sásta fós an ní úd d'aimsiú!

Ní hionann i gconaí "fadbhunaithe" agus "déanta".

Ceist Arastatal arís! (Iompar daonlathach seachas iompar a thathníonn leis na daoine...)
