Would anybody be willing to look at a photo of my g-g-g grandfather's headstone, to try to decipher the portion written in Gaelic? The photo is about 5 mb in size. The lettering is pretty worn down, so some of the characters are difficult to make out, but I'm hoping somebody familiar enough with the language will recognize the phrase. The English portion of the headstone reads as follows: John Kennedy ???? of Parish of Powers Court County of Wicklow, Ireland Died July 26, 1860 Aged 73 Years Thank you. Jim |

is this an english translation of another part in Irish? is the Gaeilge less deteriorated?
I can't read what you have in ???? up there, but under the line it looks like Each [or Every] ?????? His Son |

I've actually gotten pretty good at reading faded headstones, but i need to have the stone in front of me and look at different angles with a flashlight and maybe do a rubbing. I'm afraid I can't tell much more from a picture |

If you have access to this stone, get yourself a large piece of white paper and do a "rubbing" of it before it deteriorates further.
Out of curiosity, what was the brand/model of digital camera which took this photo?

You're absolutely right. I'm quite embarassed, and I apologize for wasting your time. My imagination got a little carried away. I nevertheless thank you for figuring it out. That's quite a talent.
The camera was an Canon A620. I'm an amateur, so don't blame the camera. I actually found the characters more readable in the photo than in person.
