The other day while speaking to someone i nGaeilg, I was was tempted to use a certain construction. Outline: ""them: blah blah blah me: Nil, is foghlaimeoir mé cúpla blian; agus... an bhfuil tú é freisin?"" Now, the é is the part. Can you use 'é' in the sense of 'it' as you would for nouns, so as to say 'doing so too' or 'are so too' as in 'one of them there gale-gorz'? |

"Níl, tá mé ag foghlaim Gaeilge le cupla bliain, an bhfuil tusa freisin?" or "Níl, is foghlaimeoir Gaeilge mé le cupla bliain, agus an foghlaimeoir tusa féin freisin?" You can't use "an bhfuil" in the second sentence: is foghlaimeoir mé > an foghlaimeoir tú? Ní foghlaimeoir mé, etc. Have to use the forms of "is" in the question and in the answer, and not the forms of "tá". Tír Chonaill abú!
