A chairde,

Near FM has just finished its first podcast in the Irish language. It's located here:
http://nearfm.ie/podcast/index.php?id=31

A warning for those of you with a slow internet connection -- it's a huge file.

Thanks to Imeallach (http://imeall.blogspot.com) for noting this in his latest podcast.

I've also added the feed for Near FM's podcasts to the gaeilge kinja account (http://kinja.com/user/gaeilge). The Near RSS FM feed currently includes all Near FM podcasts (including those in English), but I'm hoping they'll do a separate feed for those in the Irish language soon.

Podcasting as Gaeilge? What a great idea! I'll get subscribed when I get home. Something else to listen to on the way to work.

Imeallach has been podcasting for a few months now, and for quite a while has been doing a podcast every weekday, and you should be able to download his older podcasts as well. His later podcasts tend to be about ten minutes long and include a song (usually not in Irish, however).

There is a rumor that RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will also be producing podcasts in the Irish language. http://www.foinse.ie/leighSceal.asp?sId=2261
