The Clár Plé allows members to add a photo to their profile. I enjoy seeing the faces alongside the "voices", and would gladly add my mug shot to my profile. But I don't know much about manipulating photos for the web. The profile requires a picture not greater than 60X60 pixels, and the photos I have (a bhuí le cara a bhfuil ceamara digiteach aige) are much bigger. I have iPhoto on my Mac, but not enough expertise to reduce a photo from around 900X900 pixels to 60X60. Suggestions, please!

GRMA!

Go into your photo editing program. Usually you can go under "edit photo" or some related heading and select "image size" or "photo size". You'll have to see if the default is in pixels or inches. Make the adjustments as necessary.

If you're still having trouble contact me through www.jpmcginnisphotography.com and we'll trade e-mail addresses. You can send it to me, I'll run it through photoshop and re-size it for you.

Le meas,

James

Dennis a chara,

Open the image in edit mode in iPhoto (make sure the "Edit" tab below the picture is highlighted) .

In the "Constrain" pull down menu in the lower left hand corner of the iPhoto screen, choose "Square".

Select that portion of the picture that you want to capture by dragging your cursor across the screen.

Click on "Crop". Your image will be resized.

Go the "File" menu and select "Export".

In the "Export" dialogue box, select the "File Export" tab and then click on "Scale images no larger than:"

Enter 60 x 60 in the text boxes.

Click on "Export" and save the image.

All should be well. If not, James should be able to resize the picture for you in short order.

Caoimhín

P.S To preserve the original, uncropped photo, go to the "File" menu and click on 'Revert to Original". The image will be restored to its original proportions.

I *think* I uploaded a photo to my profile, having first followed Caoimhín's instructions in iPhoto. Bainfidh mé triail as anois. If it's a bust, I'll take James up on his kind offer. My thanks to you both! Fáinne óir oraibh!

An suíomh a Dennis.
Ba mhaith liomsa breis leaganacha sa Nua Ghaeilge feiscint air, áfach! (Leaganach den méid atá ansin atá i gceist agam)

Go raibh maith agat as an moladh, a Aonghuis. Tá an suíomh ag fás go fóill, agus déanfaidh mé mo dhícheall as seo amach leaganacha Nua-Ghaeilge a quotáil nuair a bhíonn a leithéid ar fáil.

Bhíos a smaoineamh ar aistriúchain Nua Ghaeilge mar atá na haistriúchain Béarla agat.

Mar shampla, an mbeadh "iomrá na niomrá" cruinn mar leagan de "Amrae n-amrae"? nó an comhtharlú an comhfhuaim?
