I am a writer working on a 12-volume bilingual series on Catholic saints for children 5-8 years old. One of the brief biographies is of a fellow named St. John Neumann. He came to the U.S. from Bohemia, and settled in New York, where he ministered to a multicultural community. In order to hear people's confessions, John learned to speak Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Gaelic. He learned Gaelic so well that one Irish lady said, "Isn't it grand that we have an Irish bishop?" At the end of my little bio on John, I invite the children to learn a simple phrase in all the above-mentioned languages. I phrase is "I love Jesus." I need to know how to say/write it correctly in Gaelic. Can you help me? Thank you very much! |

I understand that he lived out his life in Philadelphia, where he served as Bishop. |
