An abairt dheireanach: "Ní mé cén leagan léannta a chuirfeadh aos leighis ar 'Thnúthán an Dúchais'." I don't understand the use of "Ní mé" at the beginning of the sentence.

Is the following valid?:

Ní mé cá bhfuil sé.

for:

I don't know where he is.

Usually I'd say:

Níl a fhios agam cá bhfuil sé.
Ní heol dom cá bhfuil sé.
