Hello, I have been trudging along with the Learning Irish book and tapes, and I am happy and enthusiastic about it but i like to add some flavor to my vocabulary every once in a while. Soooo, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to bless myself (do the sign of the cross) in the Ulster dialect. It would be much appreciated. Go raibh maith agat. John |

Hi John, I'm by no means an aouthority but I don't think there's any difference at all. Dialect difference would manifest themselves more in the gnáthchaint rather than in prayers. For more info, see some of the recent threads here on dialects. Slán agus ádh mór ort, Oliver. |

This is the standard form - In ainm an Athar agus an Mhic agus an Spioraid Naoimh. Amen I'm sure that is also used in Ulster. The accent would be different of course. |

One small point on Antóin's version is "...an tAthar..." Le meas, Larry |
