Hi, I would be very grateful if somebody could translate the words "Danny Boy" for me (for an art project).

I have been searching the web for a long, long time for this translation with no success, so a response would be much appreciated.

I don't remember much about the history of this song, any Irish language versions included. But "Oh, Danny Boy" could be translated as "A Dhainín, a bhuachaill", although other terms of affection might also be appropriate.

Danny boy is _not_ an Irish song, although it is sung to an Irish tune.

If it is only the Words "Danny Boy" you want translated, Seosamh's translation is fine. Danny is sometimes used for Donál in Irish.
