Fuaireamar fáilte Uí Cheallaigh (mar is gnách) ó Brother Don agus a fhoireann nuair a tháinig muid ar ais chuig an Marist Center le haghaidh ár seachtain tumoideachais shamhraidh. Bheadh Ethel an-bhródúil as.

We received a very hearty welcome (as usual) from Brother Don and all his staff when we arrived back at the Marist Center for our Summer Immersion Week. Ethel would have been very proud.

Mar is gnách bhí ár Siopadóir, Rath, an-gnóthach. Thug sí cabhair do na mic léinn a bhí ag lorg na leabhair is fearr chun cúnamh leo lena gcuid staidéir ar feadh na seachtaine agus níos faide anonn.

As usual our store manager, Rath, was very busy helping the students pick out the best books to help them with their studies for the Week and beyond.

Yeah! Sos linne snámha.

Yeah! Swimming pool break.

Thaithnigh oíche thráth na gceist le gach duine. D’éirigh le hUáitéar ceisteanna deacra a chur orainn.

The quiz night was a popular event with everyone. Uáitéar managed to get us all thinking very hard.

Bhí ár seisiún, mar is gnách, lán le spraoi agus roinnt léirithe den scoth. Chuir Rhiannon an dubh-iontas orainn lena cuid taithí ar an bhfidil. Go raibh míle maith agat, a Rhiannon.

Our session, as usual, was alive with some excellent performances. Rhiannon amazed us with her expertise on the fiddle. Thanks, Rhiannon.

Bíonn sé an-tábhachtach go deo stopadh agus stánadh ar an amharc tire. In Esopus bíonn radharc iontach ar an abhainn. Nach gcreideann tú muid? Cuir d’ainm isteach go luath don tSeachtain Shamhraidh 2013.

It’s always important to stop and take in the scenery. Esopus has great views of the river. Don’t believe us? Make your reservations early for the Immersion Week next Summer.

Ba é seo an bhliain deireanach le Brother Don ina thíosach ag an Seachtain in Esopus. Fuair mé an grianghraf seo de Brother Don nuair a bhí sé ina bhráthair óg. Breathnaíonn sé fós chomh deas is a bhí riamh. Go gcuire Dia an rath ort! Aireoidh muid uainn thú.

This was the last year of Brother Don hosting our Week in Esopus. While there I found this picture of young Brother Don. He still looks as great as ever. We wish him all the best in his new endeavors. You'll be missed, Brother.

An é sin Twiggy taobh thiar den struchtúr iontach sin?

Is that Twiggy behind that amazing structure?

An Scata “Kitchie”. Chaith siad go maith leis na Deartháireacha.

The Kitchie Gang. They did the Brothers proud.

Chaill muid ár gcara croí, Pádraigín Thomas, i mbliana. Fuair sí bás agus í ag déanamh réidh teacht don tSeachtain Ghaeilge. D’airigh muid uilig uainn í i rith na Seachtaine. Is minic a smaoiním ar an uair ‘is a bhuaigh sí an comórtas “Fudd” in Elmer roinnt blianta ó shin. Chuir sí fhéin agus na “Divas” eile gliondar ar ár gcroí lena léirithe ag ár n-imeachtaí go léir. Molaim daoibh uilig breathnú ar an gcuimhneacháin a bhí againn di ag an seisiún. Grásta ó Dhia ar a h-anam.

Our dear friend Pádraigín Thomas passed away as she was packing her car to come to Esopus. She was sorely missed by everyone during the Week. I've thought many times of when she won the ”Fudd of Elmer” competition several years ago. She and her fellow Divas have thrilled us all with their performances at all of the Daltaí events. I encourage you all to look at the memorial that we had for her at the session. May God rest her soul.

An bhfuil an ceol do "Flight of the Bumblebees" ag aon duine?

Does anyone have the sheet music for the "Flight of the Bumblebees"?
