Satharn na nGael is a day of immersion in the Irish Language, designed to give newcomers a taste of the Irish language, as well as a sampling of Irish music, poetry, customs and folklore. Although about a third of the attendees are brand new to the language, intermediate and advanced classes are offered as well, with plenty of time for the "craic" in between.

The event is held every year in late Spring in the Greater Philadelphia area in association with the Commodore Barry Arts and Cultural Center. Language classes are held in the morning and afternoon, interspersed with informal workshops. In past years, sessions have been held in tin whistle, harp, the pipes and even Irish language on the Internet.

It is a full day of activity, Irish style, and a chance to network with others in the area who wish to preserve the language. The event is sponsored by Daltaí na Gaeilge (Students of the Irish Language) and is just one of the programs that they host throughout the year. It offers the perfect blend of study and entertainment for anyone interested in Ireland's language and culture.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, this year's program will be presented entirely online. For this year only, all registrations and payments must be made online through the Daltaí Shop. Because the workshop will be conducted entirely online this year, no announcements or registration forms will be mailed out.

The Official Announcement and Registration Form for this event is available in the Daltaí Shop.
