Tá an daltai nua an dheas ach--- it won't let me register.Specifically;the tick box for 'I agree to these terms' remains stubbornly blank no matter how often I click it! |

Do we need to open a new account there or will all of our info be transferred? Sorry, but I don't quite understand what's going on. |

I had no trouble at all registering - or anything else for that matter. I'm saying this in a surprised tone, because, having a tendency to paranoia, it seems to me that's it's always me who has IT problems. This time no trouble - signature and avatar both went in first time, and that's a first for me. Sean - living with the shame of being the first non-native speaker in his family... |

I had issues rendering it in Chrome, for example the tickbox. It worked fine in IE. Given Chrome shares same rendering engine as Safari (Webkit) this might also be issue there. I didn't try firefox. Even let me use punc's in the username :-) Dubhthach = Duḃṫaċ |

How did you do that (the seimhiú)? I couldn't figure it out. Sean - living with the shame of being the first non-native speaker in his family... |

Doesn't work well in Chrome (the browser of choice for tech nerds everywhere). Specifically, checkboxes are not visible. Apart from the problem this causes for initial registration, this means that I can't check the 'remember me' option and will have to logon again every time I visit the site. |

I use Chrome as well so I'll wait until tomorrow afternoon before seeing if I can register. (It's 3:40 in the morning in Ireland now, for anyone who didn't know! :p ) I'm not too concerned about carrying over my post-count, but I reckon I should probably get in contact with an Admin about my post content. The new format looks marvellous, by the way. Táim an-tógtha leis. :) Riarthóir ar www.foramnagaeilge.com. |

Obuadhaigh (nó ÓBuaḋaiġ ;-) ) I use US-Gaeilge as my default keymapping on my laptop. As my work laptop came with an american keyboard it was quite easy to get use to slight differences from an Irish keyboard. (@ reversed with " for example) It's basically a superset of "US International" http://mearchlar.tripod.com/ /b = ḃ /c = ċ etc. |

Thanks, a Dhubhach. I won't attempt it. My IT skills aren't up to it. Still, reading your posts will give me good practice in becoming accustomed to it. In the age of computing, I can't understand why we are still footering around with 'h's rather than the traditional method of indicating séimhiú. Think of the paper it would save in printing books! Wasn't that one of the reasons why we had the spelling reform in the first place? Sean - living with the shame of being the first non-native speaker in his family... |
