A cairde:

Go raibh mile maith agaibh as an comhairdeas a thabhairt dom. Thanig mé ar ais ó héireann DeAoine seo caite. Bhí an túras is mó mo shaol. Chaith mé an chead seachtain i nGleann Colm Cille, agus seachtain 2 's 3 i Gleann Fhinne, idir Baile Feich agus Na Gleannta. D'fhoghlaim a lán Gaeilge agus bhí an chead taithí agam gaeilge a labhairt. Níl mé ach ag foghlaim go foill, ach tá stórfocail nua agam, agus ba mhaith liom é a usaid. Faigh sibh le bhúr thoil mo Facebook núa faoin "Féabar Mac Maoláin". A mo chairde, tá comhra de díth orm. Mas maith libh lá eígin comhra a bheith agaibh liom, is m'ainm Skype faberm.

Aris, go raibh mile maith agaibh as an comhairdeas,
Faber

(I know there are probably many mistakes, but I wrote this out of my head with my new vocab, I am so grateful for this opportunity in Éireann...le meas)

It is sad that only Spanish and very occasionally French are offered at schools and universities in my state, and unfortunately, even if there were other languages offered, I feel it would not be Gaeilge that would be included. But there are lots of Irish people and people of Irish decent here in upstate SC.

I wish I could have had an Irish Language course at my university so I could have gone to a Gaeltacht for the summer. Too bad there isn't something for those who study on their own or are already graduated...

But this is a wonderful site, and it is great to see someome doing this very thing. Thank you for sharing it!

Slán!
