ní = negetive copula or negates a verb in the present or future , or past of dependent verbs níl = negetive of tá Im sure theres other uses, thats just off the top of my head Ní bhfaighir faisnéis mara ndeinir fiafraí. |

Níl is actually just a contraction of ní fhuil, the same verb as in, e.g., nach bhfuil (fuil being the dependent form of the verb tá). |
