Would you rather say :

dúirt mé go raibh tú bomanta aréir
dúirt mé aréir go raibh tú bómánta

ah, cool, I was mearly guessing at 'dumb' as in Ó Dónaill it gave 'slow-witted'

I said that you were dumb(?) least night
I said last night that you were dumb(?)

the second sentence is clear in English - (it was last night that I said it)

the first one could/does mean - I said at some stage, maybe a few minutes ago "you were dumb last night"

so not quite the same - and maybe a bit different in Irish too?

eadaoin

wouldnt "it was last night that I said it" be:

'B'aréir adúrt é' or something along those line?
