Hello, I have some questions about specificities of connacht gaelic. -Which one of these is the common 1st plural form of the preterite? mholamar / mhol muid -Instead of "feirmeoir", "feilméar" is used. So is "éar" always used istead of "eoir" for jobs ? |

Mhol muid. Actually it looks like "mholamar" doesn't exist anywhere now (Munster has mholamair, with slender r, and Connachta and Ulster have mhol muid). Feilméara. No -éara isn't always used instead of -eoir, it depends on the noun... Learn Irish pronunciation here: http://loig.cheveau.ifrance.com/irish/irishsounds/irishsounds.html & http://fsii.gaeilge.org/ |
