I wrote a few poems for my creative writing class, and I wrote a couple of them in Irish. My teacher did not try to translate it but I still got credit. They are sort of prose but in stanza form. I'd like to hear any opinions. Thanks.

Táim beo

táim ag scríobh seo mar tá fíos agam
a ní thuigeann tu Gaeilge
ní feidir liom insim seo duit as Béarla
ach ceapaim atá grá dhuit agam

táim ag damhsa
agus ag lui ar an tolg leat
Táim beo

táim ag feiceáil agat do suil
chonaic me thú
agus táim ag feiceáil gach rud
Táim beo

leat
Táim beo

ná abair "tá brón orm"
beidh sé breá
i t-am, beidh me go maith
Táim beo

and then my other poem (significantly shorter)

dónn tú mo anam
chomh géal le oir
chomh ólta le beoir
tá grá dhuit agam

I'm afraid the grammar is not very accurate; you have got the order badly wrong in some cases.

Táim á scríobh seo mar go bhfuil fhios agam
Nach dtuigeann tú Gaeilge
Ní féidir liom é seo a insint duit as Béarla
Ach ceapaim go bhfuil grá agat dom

etc.
