Our very own Mícheál Ó Siadhail.

Has anyone read his new collection 'Tongues'?

I'm trying to learn Irish with the book by this author and I find it excellent.

But I entered his website and noticed with great surprise that no Irish version, but in Norwegian and Japanese. Given that the site has very little text, I think it can only be understood as a deliberate decision to ignore this language.

I have also seen that he began publishing his books in Irish, some without English translation.

Without going into his private life, I wonder if anyone can explain the reasons for this change.

Well, one thing I've noticed is that when he writes in English he spells his name "Micheal O'Siadhail" with no síntí fada and the apostrophe. I see he does the same thing on his website. Maybe he just got tired of the whole Irish thing. Who knows.

He's in the Aosdána which is itself a special honour but I think he deserves another national kind of award for his contribution to the Irish language. Would be nice if the Gradam Ceoil had another side award for that category. And why has he not been invited onto the Late Late? Going to send that Ryan Ránaí Tubridy my suggestion.
