I'm translating the old poem Seothó, and Im trying to figure out how "a thoil!" is being translated as Darling.
its Seothó a thoil! ná goil go fóill.
This is in the back of TYI. It has the translation, but I'm trying to do it on my own to see if I can, yet I can find no reference to "a thoil" in my Ó Dónaill dictionary thats states it means darling at all.

Never mind, I'm finding that Poems dont translate straight accross AT ALL. I'll just use the translation in the book.

"Seothó, a thoil" is in Dinneen's Dictionary (page 1,023)
The translation says it means "hush-o, my darling" |
