Dia dhuit mo chairde, I am looking to return to the Irish language after a gap of 8 years. I studied Irish at school from the age of 11-16 and although I remember many words and phrases I am completely lost with the grammatial aspects. I need a resource which will assist me in sentence construction and hopefully lead to some level of fluency. I hope someone can point me in the direction of a useful book/cd rom. Go ra mhaith agaibh agus slan go foill.

"Learning Irish", by Mícheál Ó Siadhail, is widely recognised as the best textbook taking a grammatical approach.

I also like "Basic Irish: A Grammer and Workbook" by Nancy Stenson. It's a good book for beginning grammar.
