Hello, all. I am curious to know how my entire name would look in Gaelic: Alice Faye Riley. Many thanks to anyone who will help! |

Ailís Fae Ní Raghallaigh (Faye doesn't really have an Irish equivalent as far as I know. Fae is just a phonetic rendering.) |

Is Riley your married or maiden name? If it is your married name, it would be Uí Raghailligh. Lysaght has Ó Raghailligh with palatalised l. I don't have Ó Droighneáin here at home but if you bear with me until tomorrow I'll look up "Alice" for you and see what he says. He may have "Faye" too but I doubt too. In that case it's best to leave it as it is. |

Woulfe has Ailis, with Eilís as an alternative. |

Ó Droighneáin has Ailís - note long second i. Curiously, Ó Droighneáin gives both Ó Raghailligh and Ó Raghallaigh. Woulfe does likewise but says that it has "numerous dialectical variations" (629). ó D. says nothing of Faye but then again Faye isn't a common name in Ireland anyway. I'd leave it as it is. |
