Hi, in the phrase carved into the top of the blackboard.

Picture here: http://outnow.ch/Media/Movies/Bilder/2006/WickerMan/movie.fs/02.jpg

Níl aon chealg ag an rí

Can anybody 100% confirm that this definietly means - The king has no sting.

?

(A reference to the bee's - and possibly the way "Summersisle" treat the men as 2nd class citizens and for breeding purposes, I presume.)

Thanks!

The king has no sting.
yes, or no pin, or no brooch. Cealg may mean several things.

"Níl aon ghoimh ag an rí".

Is féidir leat an focal "ga" a úsáid freisin.

Sea,tá a fhios agam faoi sin!!

In ainm Dé ní raibh mé ach ag tabhairt samplaí eile ar téarmaí don focal "sting".Mar a deir tú féin,tá cúpla brí eile don téarma "cealg"

Ach, a Séasáin, cuireadh ceist faoi phictiúir!

Tugann do fhreagra le tuiscint go bhfuil an pictiúr mícheart nó míchruinn. Níl.

Dála an scéil, "nimh" seachas "cealg" an brí atá le goimh.

quote: "Ach a Séasáin"

"a Shéasáin" le do thoil.

Níor abair mé go raibh an pictiúr mícheart-ba chóir go mbeadh an méid sin soiléir.Mar a bhí le rá agam thuas,NÍ RAIBH MÉ ag cur ceartúcháin ar aon rud ar bith, agus arís,ní dúirt mé go raibh an téarma "cealg" mícheart.Maidir leis an bhfocal "cealg",ciallaíonn sé "deceit" freisin.

Sin deireadh an argóint.

Ní fhaca mé an scannán riamh. An bhfuil faisnéis chúlra ag éinne faoi conas a tharla nath Gaelainne a bheith ar an gclár dubh taobh thiar de Nicholas Cage sa phictiúr?

Is geal leis an bhfiach dubh a ghearrcach féin.

Ní fhaca mé an cheann seo fós,ach tá an cheann bunúsach,a bhí sa bhliain 1973,agam ar DVD,le Edward Woodward agus Christopher Lee.Bhí an scannán bunúsach déanta go h-iomlán in Albain, ach sa seomra ranga,níl aon Gaeilge nó Gàilig scríofa ar an gclár dubh.
