If true, this is the death of the Irish language.

There was a report on the upcoming revisions to the caighdeán. Someone please tell me this is a sick April Fool's Joke? HOW in the name of God could this even be considered.

They listed:

DEIREADH le:

Canúintí (phrases like 'cad ina thaobh' cited)

Síneadh fada

Séimhiú

Modh coinníollach

Tuiseal ginideach

Can't tell you what went through my head seeing the face of ALAN TITLEY the face of this revision, this "ollamh" who is 'Cathaoirleach an choiste'.

Was this a joke? I can't believe it.

If true, what are we going to do about it? They can't get away with this!

It was a pretty crap April Fool's Joke if that's what it was. At least make it funny..

Hey, but if they're kidding about these things it may also indicate how absurd it would to make such changes, and how strong such things are in the language, even the CO!
