I was thinking to myself, and i have put it into practice, that a diary would be great way to learn the language. When you think about it, you are bound to become accostomed to the language through repetition of phrases you might have difficulty with. And it is a sure way of fixing any mistakes made, as you can always put in the correct phrase and refer back to them when in doubt.
Tá súil agam go bainfidh sibh úsáid as an mhol seo.
Labharfad libh ar ball.

Good idea alright a Sheamuis!
Perhaps this is another of my silly questions but....
Is there a difference between Dialinn and Cín Lae?
I'm working my way through Cín Lae Eibhlín Ní Shúilleabháin ( Coiscéim ), eagarthóir Máiréad Ní Loingsigh, having read, as best I could, Cín Lae Amhlaoibh.
Nice Bhlascaod Mór gaeilge in Cín Lae Eibhlín Ní Shúilleabháin,a Sheamuis. I'm finding it a bit of a slog, but rewarding.

Yes. Cín Lae is the original Irish word for "diary". Dialann results from a misunderstanding in the dictionary as explained by Dennis at
http://www.daltai.com/discus/messages/13510/33394.html?1208235415

Dialann - meant the day's food "diarium" in Latin, which people misunderstood to mean "diary". Cígire is another of those words based on a misunderstanding.

Fair play to you for sourcing that. God knows how long we all would have been ag leanúint ar aghaidh lena leithéid. I had missed that thread and explanation from Dennis as I wasn't on here at all in 2008. Go raibh míle maith agat.
