Tá Seachtain na Gaeilge ag teacht, mar a fhios againne ar ndóigh. Ar aon nós, i have a few friends who have an interest to learn irish, so i was wondering what could I do to help them learn their native tongue. I was thinking that maybe i should encourage them to speak Irish by speaking some bit of irish to them, lead by example you know?
Cad a ceapeann sibh?

I suppose you hang out with them? When you do, introduce phrases and words which you already know. You know what I mean, the greetings, the common phrases. Then, perhaps, if you're inclined, set up a study group together. Or latch onto a speaker who is willing to lead you all, if possible. It seems like you know a bit based on your posts, so have at it, in my opinion. It probably would be the most fun for you all, and they'd learn some stuff to give them confidence if they wanted to tackle the harder stuff later.

Go find Muiris Ó Laoire on campus. See what he says. I know from the Speaking Irish video that he has good Irish from your area.

Even my children with absolutely no Irish know what "ca bhuil an leithreas?" means....and they don't ask for the seomra folctha...God forbid they bathe...they are never-failing in THAT distinction...weirdos.
